ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Other duties may be assigned.

-Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards

-Diagnoses cause of most malfunctions and performs repair; reports defects or malfunctions to service writer or manager.

-Read and interpret diagnostic test results to identify mechanical problems

-Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received.

-Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.

-Ability to read, analyze, and interpret periodicals, journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

-Ability to write reports and procedure manuals.

-Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.


QUALIFICATIONS:

-Five (5) years heavy duty diesel technician experience.

-Basic computer knowledge with good communication skills.

-Must successfully complete pre-employment drug screening, a clean driving record and ability to maintain it

-Regular and reliable attendance and punctuality.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

-Occasionally required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach and handle tools.

-Occasionally requires the ability to lift 75 pounds.

-Frequently required to walk to all areas of the facility, both indoors and outdoors.

-Frequently required to walk in or around environments where customers conduct their business.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

-While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.

-The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; and vibration.

-The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Profil requis

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel vehicles
  • Troubleshoot, and repair all diesel fleet equipment
  • Maintain diesel engines used to power heavy trucks
  • Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on agricultural and turf equipment
  • Diagnose and perform preventative maintenance for heavy-duty diesel vehicles and equipment
  • Perform light repairs and minor electrical repairs
  • Perform major diesel engine repairs, in frame, and diesel overhead services
  • Perform maintenance/emergency repairs on the fuel, brake, electrical and transmission systems of diesel trucks
  • Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear
  • Maintain diesel equipment operation by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements
