Job Description

Big Dog Motorsports repairs and maintains customer BMWs, Mini Coopers and Land Rovers. We also specialize in vintage car restoration and maintenance, as well as track/ race car builds and maintenance. We do like old air cooled engines. You will be working ina very nice shop with central heat and air conditioning. Weekends are optional. There will also be the opportunity to provide track support for our customer if you wish to do so. Depending on your experience and our current line up, you may be working on a daily driver or one of the project cars. You'll never be bored with the same old thing.

A TechNet Automotive Technician fixes, inspects and maintains cars, trucks, SUVs and other vehicles for drivers. Their main duties include using tools to find any potential issues with someone’s vehicle, explains problems with the car to the driver and performing maintenance on the car to fix it or prevent it from future breakdowns or issues.

  • Repair brake and steering systems.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic systems.
  • Replace or repair transmissions and fuel components as needed.
  • Repair cooling components and systems including air conditioners and engine cooling.
  • Perform emissions inspections, safety checks and similar state-regulated vehicle examinations.
  • Maintain a clean, safe working environment.
  • Produce legible and accurate paperwork reflecting work performed.
  • Possess a valid state driver’s license for conducting test drives.

Job Requirements

  • Perform maintenance and repair on customer vehicles.
  • Identify problems with vehicles using the diagnostic equipment.
  • Explain automotive repairs and issues and provide great customer service.
  • Plan repair procedures using charts manuals and experience.
  • Test the functionality of parts and systems
  • Perform basic auto care and maintenance tasks such as oil changes, fluid level checks, and tire rotation.
  • Repair and replace brake pads, wheel bearings, sensors and other parts.
  • Perform routine maintenance and general mechanic work on vehicles.
  • Prepared to get additional certification as needed.
  • Willingness to learn with hands-on training.
  • Help keep repair shop clean and organized.
  • Keep a professional appearance.
  • Assist with fabrication, wiring, restoration and track car prep.
