A TechNet Automotive Technician fixes, inspects and maintains cars, trucks, SUVs and other vehicles for drivers. Their main duties include using tools to find any potential issues with someone’s vehicle, explains problems with the car to the driver and performing maintenance on the car to fix it or prevent it from future breakdowns or issues.

At Valley Automotive we operate in a team environment and expect technicians to not only work independently but as a collective to ensure all work is completed. Good customer service skills, organization, and time conscientiousness are a must in order to ensure continued efficiency is maintained. Technicians will often need to manage multiple vehicles and must be able to adapt. Continued exemplary work over time will afford opportunities for pay raises.

  • Repair brake and steering systems.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic systems.
  • Replace or repair transmissions and fuel components as needed.
  • Repair cooling components and systems including air conditioners and engine cooling.
  • Perform emissions inspections, safety checks and similar state-regulated vehicle examinations.
  • Maintain a clean, safe working environment.
  • Produce legible and accurate paperwork reflecting work performed.
  • Possess a valid state driver’s license for conducting test drives.

  • Test drive vehicles and be able to understand symptoms present upon driving.
  • Discuss with customers to understand the vehicle problems they are experiencing. After diagnosis discuss options based off of vehicle needs.
  • Inspect vehicles on the lift, be able to diagnosis the problem, develop a plan, and then perform the needed repairs.
  • Prepare recommendations for repairs and maintenance in the future.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors about work.
  • Be prepared to continuously learn new technologies and systems.
  • Prepared to get additional certification as needed.
  • Willingness to learn with hands-on training.
  • Help keep repair shop clean and organized.
  • Keep a professional appearance.
